The Art of the Future Film Screening
Monday, November 20, 2017 - 14:52
Our art and craft group ‘CraftPunk’ were given the opportunity to take part in a project with the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) Outreach Team - The Art of the Future. The project links young people with other youth art projects around Scotland creating collaborative works of art. The project encouraged conversation about the world they live in including challenging topics that directly affect their lives. NGS believe that modern and contemporary art is the perfect vehicle to allow radical thinking and innovative social solutions which can emerge from this creative dialogue among young people across Scotland. CraftPunk received a Project Box of which was delivered to each participating group. This was a mystery box and inside was equipment and materials. CraftPunk at Tweeddale Youth Action created their own artworks which resulted in a film which discussed the pressures of social media and body image. CraftPunk will be holding a screening of the film on Peebles High Street on Thursday 23rd November to show the artwork and performed to passers-by.
