Beltane Float
After months of planning and hard work we finally managed to enter our first float into Peebles Beltane Festival Fancy Dress. Our theme was party float and our members dressed up with rave chalk and face masks of Tweeddale Youth Action staff.
This was also a great opportunity for us to promote Bike Punks and Food Punks and we were delighted to include our 2.5 metre high pedal powered rat bike as the centre piece on the float along with flags, bunting, music and lights. We managed to create quite a spectacle and this will feature in our calendar for future years!
Huge thanks go to Graham Irvine for providing the tractor, trailer and super driver, Travis Perkins for the straps and ratchets to keep our float in place and local joiner Alan Hunter and his dad Bill for fitting our railings and keeping everyone safe.
Huge thanks also go to all staff, volunteers and over 30 young members from our youth club who all got behind this project and made it happen. We couldn't have done this without their support and we've set the standard for years to come!
