Big Steps Small Changes residential visit to Stirling, Callander and Falkirk!
To kick off our project on reducing carbon emissions we are looking for members to sign up to our first residential trip to Callander. This trip is open to all members from Peebles and Innerleithen and will give all participants an understanding on the need to reduce our carbon emissions as well as have laods of fun!
Residentials are scheduled for 29th of august, 21st of November, 30th of January and we still have spaces left for the next one on 6th of June. The timetable for the next one is as follows and, like all our trips and activities, is completely free!
Callander residential timetable is as follows:
Saturday 6th of June
10 am. Meet at Peebles Youth Club
10.30 am. Leave Peebles youth club on the mini-bus, driven by Tweeddale youth Action Manager, David Hodson
12.00 Arrive in Stirling and eat packed lunches at the Wallace Monument
13.00 Arrive at Recyke a bike in Stirling for a visit and discussion on their recycling facility.
15.00 Leave Recyke a bike and head to Callander Youth Hostel
15.30 Arrive at Callander Youth Hostel and check in
16.00 Start preparing the evening meal (food group) and inspect Callander’s bikes for evening bike ride.
18.00 Eat dinner in Callander Youth Hostel’s café
19.00 Head out on a bike ride using bikes provided by Callander Youth Project
21.00 Back to the Youth Hostel for an hour and a half of discussion and games.
22.30 Bed!
Sunday 7th of June
9.00 am. Get up and pack
9.30 am. Breakfast
10.00 am. Environmental discussion with Dr. White from Agenda Carbon
11.30 Leave Callander Youth Project and head to Falkirk Wheel
12.00 Lunch at Falkirk wheel and tour around the visitor centre and water park.
14.30 Leave Falkirk and head back to Peebles
16.00 Arrive at Peebles youth Club and complete evaluation forms.
